GREAT BRITAIN’S TEAM PURSUIT SQUADS VICTORIOUS AT THE
UEC EUROPEAN TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Great Britain Cycling Team were once again the dominant force in the team pursuit events at the UEC European Track Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland, as both the male and female squads were crowned as the European champions.
In the first round of the event, both squads won their respective heats.
The starting line up was Sir Bradley Wiggins, Steven Burke, Owain Doull and senior academy rider Matt Gibson. They beat Russia in a time of 3:57.513 which placed them in the final against home nation Switzerland. Andy Tennant and Jon Dibben replaced Matt Gibson and Steven Burke in the final, and the quartet won the gold medal in a time of 3:55.243.
