LONDON, 17th September 2018.
Yesterday Roland Mouret launched his Spring Summer 2019 collection at London Fashion Week with a bold open-air show outside the National Theatre featuring a mix of models and non-models – including Kinga Rajzak fresh from completing her MA – on the South Bank to critical acclaim from the global fashion industry critics and buyers.
The SS19 show cited specific inspirational references to 1974 film Emmanuelle, yonic symbolism and the power and tenacity of Emma González, the Parkland shooting survivor and, now, activist. As Mouret said afterwards: “This season is based upon collective women’s voices. It’s also about going towards more of an emotional situation; a bit about letting go of expectations and rethinking the rules.”
